Printable Qwixx Score Sheet
Qwixx scores in a way that looks simple at a glance — cross off numbers, count how many — but the actual point value of a row isn't linear: crossing off a sixth number in a row is worth more than the fifth, which is worth more than the fourth, and so on. A sheet needs the full point table printed on it, not just blank boxes, or a player has to guess at their own row totals until the game actually ends.
The four color rows, and reading direction
Each of the four colored rows (red, yellow, green, blue) runs numbers in a fixed direction — red and yellow ascend left to right, green and blue descend — and a number can only be crossed off if it's to the right of (further along than) the last number crossed in that same row. This ordering rule matters for scoring only in that it determines which numbers are even available to cross off by the time a player gets around to a given row, not in how points are calculated once the row is totaled.
The point table every sheet needs printed on it
Points for a row aren't 1 per box — they follow a fixed, rising scale (for example, 1 box crossed scores 1 point, but 8 boxes crossed scores 36, not 8), because each additional cross in a row is worth more than the last. Because this scale isn't something most players can recompute from memory mid-game, the printable layout below keeps the full 0-through-12-box point table directly beneath each row, exactly where it's needed at scoring time.
Locks: the twelfth number and its extra weight
To lock a row, a player needs at least 5 numbers already crossed off in it, and may then cross off the row's final number (paired with the lock symbol) when it's rolled — locking that row for every player and removing its die from play for the rest of the game. The lock symbol itself counts as an extra crossed box for that row's scoring purposes, on top of whatever numbers were actually crossed, so a locked row scores one box higher than a simple count of the numbers marked would suggest.
Penalty boxes: a flat, separate deduction
Failing to cross off at least one number on your own turn (across both the "active player" and "passive player" scoring opportunities each turn) requires marking a penalty box, and each penalty box marked costs a flat 5 points, subtracted from the row-based total rather than affecting any row directly.
Reading a finished sheet
A completed Qwixx sheet totals five separate figures per player: the four row scores (each read off the point table for however many boxes, including any lock, were crossed) plus the penalty deduction (5 points per penalty box marked), summed into one final score. Whoever's total is highest when the game ends (two rows locked, or one player has four or more penalty boxes) wins.
Active-versus-passive turns and exactly when a game ends are covered on the full Qwixx rules page. The complete row-length point table, worked through several example games, lives on the scoring deep-dive.
Does locking a row early in the game change its point value later? No — the point table is based purely on how many boxes end up crossed (including the lock) by the time the game ends, not on when during the game the row was locked. A row locked early and a row locked late score identically for the same number of boxes crossed.
What ends the game — a set number of rounds, or something else? Qwixx ends the instant either two of the four color rows have been locked, or any single player has marked four penalty boxes — whichever happens first. There's no fixed round count; a game can end abruptly the moment either condition is triggered.
Qwixx is filed under this site's Dice Games category hub along with the rest of the catalogue's dice-decided games.
